Proactive Procrastination: Poor Policing, Worse... →
There are tons of police officers who “get” bicycling as transportation and support it, but there are some who try to “save” us from bicycling. Have to educate people more and help them understand vehicular cycling better. Mr. McAllister has some very good points here. Keep the faith, Jeff!

Love the image of the bike on the ramp next to the “no bikes on ramp” sign. If you don’t want bikes on the ramp, then maybe install a bike rack. Sheesh, it isn’t that difficult to figure out how to achieve that goal. A bike rack would have achieved what the sign failed to.

I became a League Cycling Instructor many years ago. One of my greatest delights was teaching cyclists that they are allowed to “take the lane.” Too many new cyclists, myself among them at one time, ride as far to the right as possible. This results in a more dangerous traffic scenario as well as more flat tires from all the debris there.
